Sydney Aquarium

Hi there readers!

So today we (Ange & I) decided to take Tyler to the aquarium to see the fishes and the sharks. He was so excited in the morning that he fell asleep before we even got to the city. So with him asleep in the pram we decided to walk around a bit. Three hours later and Tyler finally wakes up and has a bit to eat for lunch before we head to the aquarium. It was much the same as the Wildlife world experience and Tyler once again stared wide-eyed at everything, soaking up the atmosphere and doing the usual Tyler thing as you'll see in the following video I've posted up. He got a shock when we were down in the tunnels and a massive Manta ray swam right above us. He almost fell backwards from fright. All in all a good day for everyone. We even bought Ty a shark to remind him of the fun times we had watching the sharks swim by and he hasn't let go of it since.

Wildlife world!

So we went to Wildlife world today and it was great to see Tyler interacting and having fun as he ran around everywhere, pointing, laughing and of course eyeballing everyone in the vicinity. At first he was a bit apprehensive about walking on his own but of course he found his legs. That doesn't mean we let him go everywhere on his own. He is becoming so independent, growing up so fast. I'll post up some vids for you to watch and don't forget to cbox back.!

Hey there readers!

Tyler's already hit 11 months which is so exciting. I know I have been missing the posts in a really long time (Really the last post was December last year? That seem's so long ago.). A couple of updates since I last blogged. He's got almost all his baby teeth out now with just several still to come. He's walking with our help but getting stronger and more independent every day. Another thing to add is that he is just a total eating machine. I say that with the best compliments of course. He likes to eat his solids now and not just any solids. He prefers to eat out of my plate. That being said he does like his milk still and it seems his favorite food right now is bananas. He can't seem to stop eating them although we do like to limit it to at the most two a day. He eats it with such ferocity that as an audience you'd think he was starving.

Side note, I'll be posting up more often now as we've had some changes in the household so I will blog again soon.

Hey there,

Been a while since my last post so I'll try to remember what's new so far. Well little Tyler had his 7 month check up with the nurse again a week or two ago and boy was he happy to see her. He's
starting to remember and recollect his memories now because he looked at her like he was looking at a familiar face. It was really encouraging that the nurse said he was as healthy as ever and his weight was fine. I think the main concern we had was that whenever he would stand while holding on to one of us he would go up on his tippy toes. We wondered whether it was normal so we put the question to the nurse who asked us immediately whether we used a walker. Well that shocked us. She told us that the baby uses a muscle or tendon or something to help them stand because he didn't know any other way of standing. So the nurse said for the time being don't let him play on the walker for long periods of time. She also set him some homework which was to learn how to use his neck and back properly when getting up to stand because we had just been picking him up and letting him stand.

Well fast forward a few days and he's gotten much better with lifting himself up. He's even started to stand properly with two feet planted flat on the ground. The little guy has been doing great with his mini achievements and we've been so proud of the little guy. He started getting into the stage recently, where he would start crying whenever its time for me to go to work. As soon as i disappear from his line of sight he would scream and start the water works. Let me be the first to tell you that it was cute the first few times but now he won't stop until Angela starts to comfort and distract him. By that time I would have left feeling a little guilty for leaving him in such a state. =( I read on the net that its just a phase and soon he'll start to understand that I don't cease to exist just cause I leave his line of sight. Hopefully that won't be too long.

On another lighter note he's second tooth is starting to come up which is great. He's becoming such a muncher, always wanting to bite and chew on things. He's also started a habit (whether bad or good im not sure) where he sleeps on his side. At first he would lie on his back like normal then he would turn over and sleep on his side just any normal non-baby would do.
Amazing.

Hello again!

So its been a crazy month so far with little Tyler starting to walk and stand on his own. It's really cute when he stands and then his face lights up because he realizes he's doing something completely new and everyone is clapping and smiling happily at him.

One thing that I'm most happy and most proud of is my son. He's gotten so big now and still growing. Its one thing I will never regret. And unless you have a child of your own, most of you out there wouldn't know how this emotion feels like, when he/she says his/her first word, the first steps, the first everything. It’s amazing and I just hate to be away from the little tyke. It is also one reason I want to leave this job and be closer to him. I've already missed out on some of the things he's done and I feel so rotten when all I want to do when I get home is relax and maybe sleep. It cheers me up when I know that my kid is happy and not at all upset in any way.

Tyler reaches 2 months this weekend. Great news for us as this means he gets his first round of immunisations. I can't begin to tell you guys what a relief that is. Being a parent and worryingwhether your kid will be safe from bugs these days is a pain. All is not lost however and he will get his shots sometime this coming week so stay tuned on his reaction. Also on the Tyler front, he had his first real tears come out now and it really is both cute and heartbreaking at the same time. I see, or rather I feel, now why most parents don't like to see their child hurt. Poor kid. He is mucho cuter now and getting plumper as we speak. Weighing at 4kg+ it seems just like yesterday he was this tiny little boy who barely weighed 2.5kg. I’m proud of what he has accomplished with the catching up on his weight range and I reckon soon enough he'll begin to utter his first words. He is already starting to mumble and make distinct sounds. I don't think his first words will be "dada" though, much to my disappointment. Just yesterday I could've sworn he cried "Maa!" several times so big guesses on what his first word will be. I'm not entirely upset though because it means he's doinggreat and will be speaking soon which is just amazing in itself.
